So San Francisco is renting out young trees- the Charlie Brown type- to its residents. They are trying to be environmentally friendly, with promises of replanting the trees rented out after the season is over. No guilt to be felt from buying a full grown adult tree, then tossing it to the curb come January.
My thought- why not just leave the trees where they are to begin with, and get an artificial tree?
I know so many people that have quams about "fake" trees. I just don't get that.
First, in the long run, it's cheaper.
It's better for the environment.
And my personal favorite, you can keep the tree up much longer!
It's not as messy or prickly.
But no, there are people that have told me they feel sorry for my family because I am depriving them of a real Christmas tree! Oh please! Give me a break. We're not attempting to make syrup from sap, here, people. We are decorating our home in ways to honor the occasion. To make it homey. Loving inside.
Can ya tell I get annoyed with the real vs. fake tree argument?
It seems to me that this article about San Francisco renting out trees just affirms that an artificial tree can be a great thing!
