Pro-Choice South Dakotans are at It Again

These pro-choice/anti-life groups crack me up. They always refer to women's health as if what they have on their agenda is actually good for women, or people in general. Or society in general.

And now the South Dakota Campaign for Healthy Families has until June 19 to collect 16,728 signatures for a petition to overturn the law passed earlier this month. (think of how many potential "signers" they've killed off!)

Judie Brown (American Life League president) summed it up pretty well:
Questioning the name of the coalition – the South Dakota Campaign for Healthy
Families – Brown said, “what can abortion possibly have to do with ‘healthy
families.’”
“Abortion doesn’t improve families in any way; it destroys
them,” she said.

May the pens, pencils, and all writing instruments of potential signers run dry, dull, and perfectly misplaced.
May their mouths be silent, their minds learned of the Truth.
And most of all, may their hearts be changed.

It's mostly symbolic. South Dakota has only one abortion clinic, and there were only 18 abortions there last year.

But I note that they're not challenging the new law in court, no doubt for fear that the challenge will go to the Supreme Court and overturn Roe.

I don't believe that they will succeed in overturning this state law by referendum; I'll be very curious to see if, having failed, they turn to the courts then.

Those "pro-family, pro-choice" or "pro-child, pro-choice" slogans are equivalent to "pro-Jewish, pro-Nazi" or "pro-slavery, pro-African-American" Makes no sense.

I want to believe you are right, Paul. In my head I doubt that we will see that in the near future, and I hate to say that I doubt in our lifetime. But I do question how much they actually fear the success of Roe being overturned. With so much "liberalism" in our day, it seems unlikely.
But it's a good point you make-what will they do after the petition?

I've always liked to take the positive approach on this subject, but wih some women who are pro-choice really have no clue what abortion is. I've always argued why do we tell women who keep their pregnancies in pre-natal materials exactly that life is concieved and we discuss early fetal development very graphicly and positively in it's complexity, but women who are lead to believe that have a choice are told "it isn't even a baby yet" or "It's a 'clump' of cells".

If abortion is so great, then let's talk about it in detail but many pro-choicers have no idea how the procedure is even done or what the "remains of conception" even look like. They really don't want women to be informed.
