And I am really getting sick of it. Why do we keep supporting them? WHY does "Hollywood" consist of such immoral people?
I have never held it back that most celebrities disappoint me. I posted before about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes getting pregnant before married, along with her dismissing her upbringing in the Catholic Church. It seems these days the majority of celebrities feel it's just fine to have sex with the next co-star, get pregnant before even getting engaged, and vocalizing on issues they know barely anything about.
A common argument is this: they are people, too, and they have the same right to speech, bla bla bla. We can say what we want, and so can they. Here is the difference: the public eye is always on them! They are always being photographed. Like it or not, they are constantly being photographed and discussed. So when they say something, many people listen! Sure, a few people may hear me or my friend when we talk about political issues. But that won't end up on the news, in People magazine, Us Weekly, etc. (you get the idea). But if, let's say, a Dixie Chick or Madonna says something, the world stops to get it in print so everyone knows about it! THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE. Being in the public eye, they should be more cautious what they say and do. I am so damned sick of their crap. Pardon me, but I am!
Surprise, surprise, Natalie Maines is back to bashing President Bush. She is embarrassed he is from Texas. She doesn't agree with him, nor the war. So she bashes him at their concerts. WHAT does that have to do with their music? NOTHING! It shouldn't. They sabotage their talent by opening their mouths to do something other than sing. Ms. Maines makes it clear how uneducated she is.
And Madonna. Lord help her. I am a little late on this, but oh well. Apparently on her world tour, she is starting the concert as a crucified Madonna, singing as a crucified woman. I love what a spokesperson for the Church of England said, "Is Madonna prepared to take on everything else that goes with wearing a crown of thorns?
There is just no need to do things like this. And when people say they are the same as everyone else, same right to free speech- NO. They are NOT the same as everyone else. They have their freedoms, yes, but they are abusing those freedoms so far beyond their intentions.
