Al-Zarqawi, who is believed to have personally beheaded at least twoEdited to add: This is what someone commented about his death on a message board I visit: They got *one* man. There is another, just as bad or worse, in the wings waiting to fill his shoes. Thinking we are making much progress is arrogant.
American hostages, became Iraq's most wanted militant — as notorious as Usama bin Laden, to whom he
swore
allegiance in 2004. The United States put a $25 million bounty on
Al-Zarqawi, the same as bin Laden.
U.S. forces in Iraq said the killing
was a
major victory.
"We killed him, and it's always great when you can
remove
someone that has caused this much harm," said Maj. Frank Garcia,
public affairs
officer for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne
Division. "We're one step
closer to providing stability to the
region."
So do you think it's arrogant?

Not really arrogant, but I'd say it's foolish to believe that the death of one major terrorist is really making any real progress at all. Yes, the world is a better place without him, but like my husband put it to me, when the president of a company dies, the company doesn't go out of business. There are many more where he came from, and the end is not in sight.
You're right, Kim. While I'd rather this guy be caught than not, I don't think this is the end. If anything else, retaliation comes to mind. I still took it as good news initially, though.
Good to "see" you again. Hope all is going well with you and your family! Thanks for stopping by.
