Right Now

Right now it's peaceful.
I can hear the rain hitting the window outside.
The white noise of the dishwasher running is very soothing.
The tv is actually off and distractions are limited.

The Christmas tree is lit and the outside lights make the living room oh-so cozy.
My wonderful husband made a delicious dinner of chicken and salad greens, and he is now putting our 2.5 year old to bed. He is such a lifesaver these days.

My 'bun in the oven' baby is actively kicking me, reminding me that he is growing and thriving. Even though 9 out of 10 kicks remind me of my inability to go long periods without bathroom trips, it's peaceful in its own way.

In the hustle and bustle of this Advent season, it is nice to be able to sit back and enjoy a brief moment like right now. It will all be close to perfection if my husband doesn't fall asleep with the boy, and makes it downstairs. Then we can snuggle on the couch with only the tree on, enjoy the white noise of the dishwasher and rain, get some prayer time in together, and then relax a little bit more.

Right now things are good.
