It's not even a "real" holiday, but I love Groundhog Day. I do.
When I taught 1st grade, I had a blast with it. We'd go outside the day before, look for our shadows, and then graph our predicitons. The kids would be so excited coming in the next morning to see if their predictions were true.
ONE DAY I will go to
Punxsutawney, PA, for Groundhog Day. That's where the groundhog is, ya know. Phil.
And
by the way, Phil predicted an early spring! I'm so happy!

Happy Groundhog Day!!
I'm a little sad that Phil didn't see his shadow. We have JUST STARTED our winter here. For most of December and January, our temps were in the 60's and 70's. I'm enjoying this "winter" weather that we're having now (30's and 40's). I wouldn't mind having six more weeks of winter--but I'm sure you're sick of it by now where you live. I guess that is what I get for living at the beach--only two weeks of winter a year.
I am always excited for Punxsutawney Phil to come out and USUALLY he sees his shadow... but this year he says early spring... I am so ready for spring. It's 10 degrees right now!
