Cloneburgers won't come with warnings
When the government approves food from cloned animals, expected in the next
year, the
Food and Drug Administration doesn't plan special labels.
People who can afford it will pay more for organic
products, which are grown without toxic pesticides and fertilizers, antibiotics
or synthetic growth hormones. Organic food is also grown without genetic
engineering.
Some in Congress want to require labels
on food from clones. Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., has introduced
legislation to require this note on packages: "This product is from a cloned
animal or its progeny."
My thoughts:
Cloned meat is expected to be in stores within the next YEAR?! Oh my. Wow.
I already prefer to buy organic, but our budget can't get much tighter right now. We simply can't afford to buy all organic. We'll need to find a way, somehow. It'll be hard with our family growing, but organic you can trust, at least. Cloned meat-so gross.
And I agree with a democrat-the FDA saying we don't need labels is preposterous! Yes we do. We certainly do! You go, Sen. Mikulski! Get us those labels!

This was the very thing that changed my hubby's mind and we are now fully vegetarians! (I am vegan.) He was off to his Super Bowl party today with veggie goodies...
I know! I was so disgusted when I heard this news...and quite happy that I'm already a vegetarian so it won't affect me..but eeww! But of course they don't want to have to label it...who in their right mind would choose a package of cloned meat over regular meat?? What has our world come to?
