Yet ANOTHER....Recall: Bumbo Seats

We had been talking about buying one for Brennan. Now I'm glad we didn't!

Bumbo Baby Seats Recalled for Head Injury Risk

"The CPSC says, "If the seat is placed on a table, countertop, chair, or other elevated surface,
young children can arch their backs, flip out of the Bumbo seat, and fall onto the floor, posing a risk of serious head injuries."

The agency says it's had 28 reports of young children falling out of the seats, and sustaining injuries that included three skull fractures suffered when kids fell out of Bumbo seats that had been placed on tables."

Stacey left a comment about this on my blog and I'm leaving one here for you--Don't you feel special?--We were talking about how the injuries that happen in recalls (besides the lead paint issues, etc...) are usually parent related--Like, DUH, don't put your kid on the table--Ha ha ha! At the same time, don't market something for that age-group that can flip from ANY surface, right?! It's not that difficult people!

We have a Bumbo seat and LOVE it, even now that DS is old enough to sit without it. It never occured to me to put it on a table... obviously that's a huge risk. Some people just don't think!

LOL! After I left my comment, I clicked on the link, then went on to the Bumbo site. Their "recall" involves calling the company to get a sticker for your Bumbo seat that tells you not to place it on a table or chair. They're changing the packaging on future models to include this warning. Common sense, people, common sense!
