This & That

It's coming down. The Christmas tree. I'm ready for my space back & normalcy, but I'll miss it. Most of the other decorations have been down for a week now, but the tree is so cozy w/ nothing else on, sitting on the couch relaxing. Until next year...

Patrick goes back to school next week. It's been so nice having him actually home. I'll miss him, so will the boys. BUT, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel! If everything stays on schedule & according to plan, he will finish off 2010 with his MBA! That makes this all seem so much more tolerable, finally being to this point.

I'm watching The Biggest Loser for the second time around, thanks to Amy's getting-me-hooked. We finished the season premier last night (even though it came on on Monday). I enjoyed it, but it is very concerning to see how they threw the contestants into a biking marathon. Lat season it started off with a 1-mile race, and they went from that to biking 26 miles?! What the heck?! I just don't think it's safe. Even with medical staff on site. It made me lose some respect for the people behind the scenes.

I started The Love Dare. After hearing Crystal talk about it, I thought it sounded like a great idea.
In good timing, I also started reading Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. I'm enjoying both, and really feeling like my patience is improving. Have you read either of these before?

Weekend plans? Anything exciting?
It's our last weekend here without Pat being busy with school. We're organizing Christmas decorations, he's working some, planning to go to Saturday Vigil Mass, and if the roads aren't too bad, Aidan & I might go see The Princess & the Frog movie. It's at our cheap theater-fun!

I can't believe that movie is already at your cheap theater! Crazy how fast they get there now-a-days!

Our tree has been down for a while and for the first few days without it I missed the glowing of the tree, BUT it is nice to have normalcy back!

Congrats on your Hubbie being SOOO close to his MBA. My dad got his when us 3 kids were very young and I hardly ever remember him being home, BUT I don't remember him being absent either... Hang in there! My dad getting his was the best thing that could have happened for our family because it moved us South and so many good things happened once we moved here. :O) Its so close! How exciting!!!

Oh and yes, we finally watched BL's first episode last night... that was crazy! I would NEVER go on that show... I don't need people to scream at me!

Wow, "The Princess and the Frog" is still running on two screens at our spendy theater! Lucky you!

I started watching "The Biggest Loser" for the first time this week and turned it off about 1/3 of the way into the episode. I thought it was disgusting that they made all those people weigh in in front of their entire families and friends. I don't like witnessing public humiliations that are supposed to somehow...strengthen? I thought that was really ugly and exploitative.

I haven't read either of the books you mentioned. I've never heard of the first one - I'll have to look into that. My mom has the second one - I'm sure she'd lend it to me.

Isn't it funny that, as much as we all love the Christmas cheer, we're DYING to get back to normal after just a few weeks of it? Hee!

I should clarify:
there is a cheap theater near us, but it runs current movies. They only charge $4 because it is a very old theater, only shows maybe 3 or 4 movies at a time, etc. So it's awesome for us. :) It's not stadium style, THX or anything, but it is just good enough for less than $5! :)

I know what you mean about wanting to take the tree down, it's cozy but at some point you have to get back to normal. Our lights are still outside, I love Christmas lights.

That's great with Pat going to be done, I remember when he started. Kurt also starts next week. Long story, but he's stretching classes out since his "new" job doesn't care if he has this degree. Dang them!

I agree about Biggest Loser, I couldn't believe the 26 mile thing, especially with people not doing so well with the one mile last season. I love the show, but like it so much more when I DVR it and skip the crap.

Oh my gosh, I've been meaning to start the Love Dare, I've had it since June. Just a couple of nights ago I thought "we need to start it." LOL.

Let us now how Princess & the frog goes, I want to see that one. I haven't been to the theatre in years though.

Kurt is going to work on our floors Saturday, I have shopping and returns to take care of. Then Sunday is Liam's Baptism. =) Have a great one.

Our tree is coming down tomorrow too. My decorator (Annie) will be out of town with Mike, so I'll be undecorating by myself. But once we're back from CYO basketball, I plan to make it a day of undecorating, NFL playoffs and hibernation!

Enjoy your last weekend before Pat starts school again. How much longer before he finishes?

My roommate still has her tree up too! I had a whole comment all thought out and now I forget what it was so I'll just say hi :) As for the weekend, nope. Just babysat last night and tonight...hanging out watching movies. Nothing going on tomorrow either, because I'm boring!
