A Boy & His Train

Brennan loves trains...all things trains.
His favorite shirt is a brown t-shirt with a steam engine on it.
In his bed are about a dozen Thomas books.
He plays with toy trains every single day.

When I came across this craft project, we instantly planned to do it. Fortunately we had everything we needed!

 very pleased with his end result!

I sure hope our projects are good preparation for him entering preschool in the fall.

Menu Plan Monday--May 16, 2011

Monday: Southwestern Pie
Tuesday: Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Sandwiches (slow cooker)
Wednesday: Pasta Night (meatless), bread rolls
Thursday: Bean Burritos (soccer practice)
Friday: Pancakes, fruit on side
Saturday or Sunday: Grilled Marinated Chicken, fresh veggies, probably potatoes

Cillian's Baptism (a little late in posting)

Cillian Joseph was Baptized on Saturday, April 30th. (Oops...I'm a bit late in getting this posted.)
It was a private Baptism, thanks to Pat's grandfather being a Deacon.
Cillian wore the family Baptismal gown: Patrick was Baptized in it, as was his dad (& Aidan & Brennan).
Family & 2 good friends came to celebrate with us, and it was a beautiful day.

31! & Mother's Day!

Sunday was a double-whammy for us: my birthday and Mother's Day.
It was a wonderful, sunny day.
One in which I did no cooking, we were all together, my husband & kids made me a CAKE, I was able to get in a lot of exercise (that always makes me happy), and we had delicious food & fun.
I am blessed to have such a thoughtful family.

Pros & Cons

At 10 weeks of age, Cillian has discovered his hands.

Pro: He loves to play with them. You can hear him slurping on them, sucking on them, admiring them. Does he know they're hands? Doubtful. So to him they're these amazing things that he never loses. Pretty cool.

Con: Being a baby & all, he is constantly gagging himself with those fascinating hands. He shoves them in his mouth all excited to have something, then doesn't know how to stop gagging himself.
Ugh.

Tuesday: Boys' Night or sandwich night
Wednesday: Meatless Pasta Night
Thursday: Angel Hair Pasta Chicken
Friday: Southwestern Pie (or eat at church for family night)

Mexican Pasta Skillet is another choice if we buy ground beef this week. And for my birthday & Mother's Day, we might make Linguine Alfredo because I love it. :)
