Sick Kiddo in the House

Aidan is sick. :( My poor sweet baby (big) boy.
Don't you feel so helpless when they're sick? I feel horrible. It's so sad.

So far it's sore throat and fever. Nothing horrible, but bad enough.

I guess I'm not surprised. We've been going so much this past month, with lots of exposure to many germs. Weddings, receptions, traveling-plenty of opportunity to grab something icky.

Anyway, it's the mommy guilt here. As moms, we're supposed to protect our babies. And I know it's good for kids' immune systems to get sick every once and a while, but I always want to think there was something else I could've done to protect him. Make him wash his hands more, not let him go to a reception, not let him have some sugar in those darn fruit snacks...endless ways to not protect him well enough.

I know that's not the case, and it could be a lot worse, but when your kid is sick, it's so sad. :(
So anyway, if you want to throw a get-well prayer our way, we'd gladly accept it. ;)
And I'm praying, too, that Brennan doesn't catch any of this. (thankfully he's still breastfed!)
Thanks.

Hopefully tomorrow we'll see some signs of our Aidan again.

Awww, poor little man! I know the feeling - for both of you. I've been sick for a week, and I got the mommy guilt during Ace's first and only (so far) cold.

I'm white knuckling the rest of this week till we go on vacay Thursday - Ace went to a birthday party yesterday and I was sick all week. If he doesn't come down with something, it'll be a doggone miracle.

Feel better soon, Aidan!

Ugh! I know how you feel! This has just passed through our house, too! It always scares me so badly when he's sick, even if it's just a little cold. This time, when he was sick, Landon looked at me with his watery eyes and congested voice said, "Mommy, take it away!" BREAK MY HEART!! Another time, he said (while he was CRYING!), "Jesus, make it better"--I hate when they're sick and will be praying for my munchkin! Poor sweet thing--I'll pray for you and Brennan and Pat, too!

Okay, so I don't know how to write you back except to pick a blog post and comment there...Anyway, how do I deal with financial stress? Control the areas I can (groceries, baby stuff, etc), and let go of the rest. Create a plan and figure out how much you can possibly save away for paying off debt (or put towards savings), stick with that, and know that you're doing the best you can! And know that GOD WILL PROVIDE! He always does! Don't know if this helps at all but I'm wishing you the best! Thanks for stopping by!
