Happy New Year! 2008!

2008!!! 2008! It seriously still feels like yesterday when we were talking about the millennium and Y2K. Time sure flies, doesn't it?

So what do you have in store for 2008? Think 2008 will be great? (couldn't resist the cheesy rhyme;)

I have a few things in mind for this new year. I'm hoping it's another good year for us here in Ohio. I have a small feeling some not-so-great stuff may happen, and that makes me feel a little scared and unnerved. But hey, I also know there will be a ton of great stuff, too!

Without further ado, here are some things pertaining to us for 2008:
-Aidan will hopefully play indoor soccer! There should be openings available, and we plan to register him this week. We hoped to last year, but my inability to drive due to kidney stones/pain meds altered those plans. :( Not this year! My little man will be trying out soccer!

-I will hopefully become a lifetime member of Weight Watchers. I am so close.

-Aidan will most likely go to preschool. Again, we tried for it this past year, but fell to the waiting list, and that spot just never opened for us. I'm a little picky, too, about where to send him. I do not want him to go somewhere where it's M-F. I prefer the 2-3 days a week type, and those fill up faster. This coming Saturday is the Preschool Fair at our library. We're going! (I do, however, feel it worked out for the best with him remaining out of the structured school another year.)

-We may move. We signed a 2-year lease here, and that expires in September. We're hoping renting month-to-month will be an option until we can buy a house. We'll see! Please keep your fingers crossed that our landlord feels sympathetic and generous. ;)

-We've decided 2008 is our year to eliminate! We've started the Dave Ramsey plan, but we haven't exactly been following with the "gazelle intensity" Dave refers to. This is our year. We plan to actively work to eliminate more debt this year than ever before. My husband is already working two jobs, and in a few months I'll probably pick up a few hours each week working somewhere. The idea of bidding farewell, er, good riddance, to our debt is so invigorating!

-Another journey I've planned is to make my own baby food. Receiving a blender for Christmas was all I needed. I hate always offering Brennan food that's from a jar.

-Aidan will turn 4, Brennan 1, and my husband and I 28. Aidan will continue with Story Time at the library, Sunday School, my husband will continue to prepare for grad school, and I'll continue to try and feed myself & family healthy foods. (another "elimination"-the constant presence of cookies in our home).

If you've read this much, you must be bored! Kidding. Thanks for taking interest.
Now tell me what is in store for you this new year!

It looks like you have a lot in store for 2008! Exciting! I've never tried the homemade baby food but lots of people do. I think this time around with Amelia I'm just going to let her eat off our our plates more & maybe wait until closer to a year to start solids. LoL! Will see.
Good luck with the debt. I wish the best for you and your hubby.
That's cool your husband is working towards grad school. What does he do now? What kind of job are you thinking about?

Okay, I won't write a book, but I look forward to reading your journey through 2008!

The blender is soooooooo much better than the food processor for doing baby food. I can't even tell you. SO much better.

Also, go head with your bad self. I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow, let alone for the rest of the year.

You'll have to fill me in on the negative stuff you're not looking forward to in 2008--Is everything okay? :o(

Also, keep me updated on the preschool stuff--Are you still considering homeschooling at all? (All of these subjects we can't ever seem to cover in person, try as we might!--LOL!)

Happy New Year!! I'll be moving in 2008 as well, and I'm working on the eliminating debt. Hopefully I can get most of it paid off! Have fun making your own baby food- I enjoy doing that :)
