We finally decided to join Blockbuster Online. (after paying a few ridiculous fees)
So far we are very pleased, and it's great always having at least one movie to fall back on.
I'm watching a lot of TV these days, with us only having one car and Patrick working two jobs, let alone about to start grad school in 3 weeks. We figured it was well worth the $13 we pay each month.
Why not do some movie reviews?
Feel free to suggest movies for me, too! I'm not as current with what's out as I was 5 years ago. ;)
This movie was much better than I expected. I thought it would be more like My Best Friend's Wedding or something, but it was surprisingly better than hoped. Katherine Heigl did a nice job. A definite chick flick, but I would watch it again. (btw, Melora Hardin had a minor role in this)
Ok, biggest surprise for me! I enjoyed the The Bourne Identity, but not really The Bourne Supremacy. I was not expecting to enjoy The Bourne Ultimatum, but it was so good. Top notch actors, great-looking Matt Damon, entertaining plot. It was really good. I recommend it to everyone.
Jumper. Ok, let's just say I wouldn't jump in to watching this again. I'd call it more or less pathetic. Had I know ahead of time that Samuel Jackson was in it, that would have been my first clue. He's never really been in any movie that's done well or known to be good. This was more a waste of time and money. I wouldn't recommend renting it, not even watching it on the Premium channels. Maybe wait until it's one day on TBS or something...maybe.
Possible one of the best movies I've seen in a long time! I was not expecting this movie to be a do-again for me. It was hilarious! Truly a very well done movie. Yes, there was a pro-life message, but it was also very realistic, and the main actress was perfect. So much comedy. Oh, and did you know Rainn Wilson had a very minor role in it? Yup. Once I saw him, I knew it'd be good.
How about you? Have you seen any good movies lately?

27 dresses - have it sitting here(from Blockbuster online,LOL), cant wait to watch it now!
The Bourne Ultimatum- haven't seen it but its on my list
Jumper - yeah, I didnt like this one either. from the previews I thought it would be good, but not at all!
Juno - I saw this a couple of months ago, and also LOVED it, so funny and just good all around.
Nothing to recommend to you yet, but I will let ya know!
We Are Marshall-very good.
Rent The Painted Veil w/ my Edward, sooo good.
I agree with your reviews---@77 dresses: James Marsden looked pretty hot, if I do say so myself! I love watching that late at night when I just can't find anything else to do and I can't sleep--Very cute! Juno was awesome--I love the dorky boyfriend!
One of the movies I was surprised by recently was "Dan in Real Life"--Rent it if you haven't seen it! Steve Carell really surprised me in this one! I am also currently obsessed with The Holiday--Have you seen it?
Sue-Got it. Thanks. :) I actually set it to record in the dvr tonight. Hopefully I'll get to it this week!
Jen-Ok, to be honest, we rented Dan In Real Life, and turned it off. :( Maybe it was our mood that particular night, but it seemed to move SO SLOW...we had a hard time getting into it. Maybe I'll try again once I see it on the movie channels.
The Holiday? Is that the one w/ Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet?
Yeah, Dan In Real Life starts really slow, but I think it redeems itself by the end--Its sweet :o) Not fabulous or exciting, but we like it. The Holiday is the Cameron Diaz Kate Winslet movie--Have you seen it? Reminds me of Love Actually
Is The Holiday ok for Haleigh to watch? She loves Titanic right now & I want to prove to her that kate winslet is pretty!
I haven't seen it, but from what I've heard, The Holiday isn't a movie you'd want Haleigh to see just yet. I think there is some decent sexual content to it.
Maybe Jen can clear it up since she's actually "scene" it. Ha!
Of those movies, I've only seen Juno. Great movie!
Dan In Real Life was also a very good movie--a pleasant surprise. I've also seen The Holiday and I thought that it was good. Sue, I don't think it would be something that Haleigh should see yet.
I know it is not out on DVD yet, but I do highly recommend The Dark Knight!! I thought it was a GREAT movie. It is very dark--which I've been a fan of since Batman Begins. And at 2.5 hours, you feel like you got your money's worth unlike those 80 minute movies they make now.
Hmmm...its not that much worse than Titanic--It only really suggests that they sleep together, but they do TALK about it an awful lot---I dunno--I'm going to say probably not, but maybe you could watch it first--Its really not that bad....
