Today is September 11th.
Most of you know why this day is historical. It's a weird feeling for me to realize that it's all only-history to Aidan. As a 4-year-old he does not yet have a clue as to why this day is significant.
I don't want to make a long drawn-out post again, but I did want to remember today for what it is, and once again extend a thank you to our troops and military families. I don't know how they do it, but I am forever grateful they do. Because of them our freedoms are protected, and our country is a safer place. God bless them all.
2 years ago I posted on my memory of 9-11. You can read that here if you're interested.
And sadly, last year I posted on it as well, with other sad news.
Today also marks the anniversary of Shirley's death.
We still miss you, Shirley! I hope you're having fun up there.
Have a good day today.
Really.
I think we're fortunate if we have our family all here with us. They may annoy us, but to have them by our side is something great. We could be a lot less fortunate. We could be missing a loved one, or we could be waiting to hear a simple hello from a deployed friend or family member.
Have a good day today. And hug your kids.
