It seems surreal, but our offer has been accepted, we had the inspection this morning, and all is well.
Crazy.
I've seriously doubted that we'd ever get our own home. Renters forever is what I thought we'd be. Pessimistic, yes, but sometimes it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
We made an offer on this place back in JULY. The bank just got back to us 2 weeks ago. (lovely how they take their time)
It's a small starter home, but what's most important is that it's a start. It's an opportunity to build equity and sooner reach our more permanent home.
Patrick is working out some details with the mortgage guy, and hopefully by close tomorrow we'll know when our closing date is.
The initial word from the bank was by the end of this month.
Nice, right? They take nearly 6 MONTHS to get back to us, yet they want us to complete everything with them in 3 weeks. Right...
I have a lot to do! Anyone wanna come help? I'll let you take pictures off the walls, tape boxes shut, pull up the bedroom carpet in the new house...doesn't it sound inviting? :)
Busy busy busy. Keep your fingers crossed we can get it all done before Pat's next semester begins!
