Wise Words

Part of the reason we love our parish is the pastor. He is an amazing priest, and this Lent he's been sending daily mediations via e-mail. Short & simple, which makes it just perfect.

Today's really struck me, so I thought I'd share:
Fast from judging others, and feast on the Christ within them.

The first day was especially relevant for me:
Fast from worry, and feast on divine order by trusting in God.

Deep words here. Very deep words. Putting them into practice is easier said than done, but the feasting is such a better way to live. The fast is worth it.

I've not had a very productive Lent. I let my circumstances pull me away from Him instead of more into Him. I'm sure that wasn't His plan, but we all need to be broken down at times.
The chance to build ourselves back up is a great opportunity. Starting with the fasting/feasting is a good way to build back up.

The messages from the pastor were powerful. The first one really struck me. But so did this:

"I let my circumstances pull me away from Him instead of more into Him."

Guilty.
