Thankful Thursday

I haven't done this one in a while, but I was feeling it today, so here goes:

• I'm grateful for turning the tv OFF more this week. 
• I'm grateful for fun playing with my kids, playing cops & robbers & other politically incorrect games
• I am thankful for life. It's so true that each day is a gift. I am lucky enough to have a supportive husband and 2 boys to love. 
• I'm thankful for CSI. Yeah, the tv show.
• I'm thankful for exercise replacing the emotional-eating tendency I always had.
• I'm thankful for my son's teacher. 
• I'm very grateful for the blogging friends that have become real friends to me. 
• I'm thankful for several people recently who have made me feel great by telling me *I* inspired them. How humbling.
• I'm so grateful for our emergency fund.

My world isn't perfect. I am so far from perfect. But at times, things perfectly line up to make me see that I am blessed. 

It's Thursday & I'm Thankful

It's been a while since I've posted along with the Thankful Thursday meme, but I'm joining in again today.

-In a nutshell, I am very thankful for my husband. He knows me well enough to know when I need a break. He knows when to step in and tell me to take some time for myself. He is a wonderful father & husband. I am so thankful he is great with our children. I am grateful he will wear our baby and soothe him. I am thankful he is a great example for our 3 year old. I'm thankful he happily stays alone with the boys every Tuesday while I go to Weight Watchers. He has never once complained. I am so thankful for this great man in my life.


-I am thankful for the Weight watchers program! I lost another 1.2 lbs this week. I'm almost down 15 pounds in total now. It feels good to almost be comfortable in my own skin again.


-I'm thankful for an unplanned visit with my brother and sister-in-law yesterday.


-I'm thankful my 3 year old is fully potty trained, and he even sleeps in his "big boy" underwear and stays dry all night!


-I'm thankful my parents are coming to visit next month.


-Beyond belief, I am so thankful that my father is retiring tomorrow. His very last day of work as a full-time employee...long overdue. I'm very proud of him.


-I'm thankful for these posts. I too easily lose sight of the good in my life, and I let myself get angry. It's good to find a group of bloggers who post the good among the daily struggles.

Thankful Thursday

Oh to be thankful...sometimes it's hard to see the good among all the stressful things, isn't it ?

-I am thankful for family. My father-in-law turned 50 this week, my sister-in-law's b-day is tomorrow, and there are more family b-days next week. I am thankful for each person and their lives.

-I am thankful for Aidan, my 3 year old. He loves his new baby brother so much, and he is so patient. Don't get me wrong-he has definitely tested the limits with all the changes. But he is so sweet and patient. He doesn't mean to clobber Brennan. He's only trying to hug and kiss him like we do!

-I am thankful hubby brought me ice cream last night. I was seeking comfort food after a day of a fussy baby.

-I am thankful for our great health insurance, and for hubby and his job. We're insured through his work.

-I'm thankful for the family and friends that have been checking up on us since Brennan's arrival. Gifts, cards, phone calls...it's so welcoming.

-I'm thankful Brennan's Baptismal arrangements are all finalized!

There was a lot I was not thankful for this week. Sleepless times, a testing 3 year old, fussy newborn...I've been snappy with my husband and hard on myself. I've had plenty of pessimistic moments. So it's good we're all here recognizing the GOOD things. It's hard to find it sometimes, but there's always something to be grateful for. Thankful Thursday

This will be brief (I suspect), but I wanted to join in since I couldn't last week. :)

-I am thankful for my new son, born one week ago today!
-I am thankful for my 3 year old son. He's a great big brother already.
-I am especially thankful for the time I had alone with my 3 year old yesterday. I've missed him since Brennan was born, and it was like old times for a few hours yesterday.
-I am so thankful hubby was able to take the week off of work as we adjust with the new baby.
-I am thankful for all the help and gifts people have given us this past week.
-I am quite thankful for Lanolin nipple cream. I'm breastfeeding. No more words necessary.
-I am thankful to no longer be pregnant! I can tie my own shoes again! LOL.
-I'm thankful for the crock pot. I know it will be put to well-use next week once hubby goes back to work. (and if you have some easy, short-ingredient slow-cooker recipes to share, please tell me!)
-I thank God for expanding our family. I am so thankful He has blessed us with two healthy, adorable boys. Little did I know when I met my husband, first as a friend, just what our future together would hold. Good thing God is in charge!

Thankful Thursday

It's Thankful Thursday again! This week I am thankful for:
~My son! Today is his 3rd birthday. He is a great blessing and I love him so much.
~For a nice Easter. Mass was very nice, as was the gathering at my in-laws following.
~I am thankful for that yummy smoked turkey my father-in-law made!
~For menu planning. I really need it.
~For any extra patience God can give me during all the potty training, especially the accidents!
~For the possible friends we made at the park on Tuesday.
~For a great playgroup yesterday. My son got to play with other kids, and I was able to interact with other moms. (adult time needed! lol)
~For everyone remembering my son's birthday, and the love they show him.
~For my husband, of course. I can't skip a week without being thankful for him. He patiently handled two BM accidents with our son, while in 2 different stores. He's enabled me to sleep in each morning before he goes to work. He's a good man.
~Thankful for this thread that Sting My Heart starts each week for us! I need something like this to stay positive and focus on. Thanks! :)

Thankful Thursday-April 5, 2007

I have so much to be thankful for this week! And what a better week than Holy Week to truly see His blessings, right?I am especially thankful for:

-The Sacraments, especially Confession. I finally went on Saturday. It had been a long time, and it was wonderful. Since going my prayer life has been re-ignited.

-Getting in more daily prayer, especially with my husband. Praying alone is one thing, but making time to pray together...I am thankful.

-I am especially thankful for having a dishwasher this week!

-I'm thankful playgroup worked out yesterday. Only one mom showed up, but my son had a blast playing with her daughter! He hasn't had a playmate in a while. Thank you, God.

-I'm also thankful for a good ultrasound, and that my baby is in the correct position for birth!

-I'm thankful for the chance to catch up with some friends on the phone this week. Most of mine are out of state, and that makes it hard to keep in touch.

It's great to have a group of people who want to acknowledge things in their lives to be thankful for. I'm appreciative of that, too.

Thankful Thursday

It's my first time participating in Thankful Thursday, and I think this couldn't be a better week to do so.

I've had one of those weeks where I've found more negatives than positives, been short on the prayers with the Big Man Upstairs, and it's resulted in a crabby me around the home front.

I really need to change my view and count the blessings!
Here goes:

~I am especially thankful for my very patient husband this week.
He's survived my mood swings, my cravings, and completely given me breaks from our son. He rubs my feet without hesitation, cooks dinner, bathes the boy....I am so thankful for him.

~I am thankful for my son. I am thankful for that energy that drove me nuts this week. I'd rather he have the ability to move than not. And he also has so many sweet moments. He always tries to help me off the couch and up the stairs. He's like his daddy. :)

~I'm thankful I got my sling this week!

~I'm thankful that my OB apt. went well again this week. Our unborn baby, though causing me discomfort, is moving a ton and growing. I can't wait to meet him!

~Above all, I am thankful that God has more patience than I do. I am grateful that He allows us mistakes, and room to grow from them. I am thankful He always listens, forgives, and accepts.
