Starbucks and their cups

Why is it always wrong when a company mentions GOD?
It never fails to draw negative attention.

Yet not too long ago, the story was Starbucks printing homosexual quotes on their cups.

How is a homosexual quote non-invasive, yet a religious quote automatically means Christians are trying to push their beliefs on non-believers? (which I'm sure they'll believe when it comes down to eternal life...And I fear they will know they were wrong about God not existing or being in control!!)

I am relieved and satisfied now that Starbucks is printing something religious on their cups. It seems to balance out their other quotes- including the homosexual ones.

Here is a sample of the quote on Starbucks' cups:

God and Starbucks
"You are not an accident. Your parents may not have planned you, but God did. He wanted you alive and created you for a purpose. Focusing on yourself will never reveal your real purpose. You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense. Only in God do we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance and our destiny."
- The Rev. Rick Warren for Starbucks

I MUCH prefer that to this quote on their cups:
"My only regret about being gay is that I repressed it for so long. I surrendered my youth to the people I feared when I could have been out there loving someone. Don't make that mistake yourself. Life's too damn short."

The quote from the Purpose-Driven Life is much more uplifting than the latter quote posted.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

i think that if they print anything on thier cups, they should print quotes from a variety of backgrounds and religions. i do not find the gay quote offensive at all.

I agree- print quotes from a variety of backgrounds and religions.

What I did NOT agree with was the perception of it all. It gets people all flustered and up in arms when there is a quote about God. People says quoting something religious in pushy and invasive.

How is printing something homosexual not the same thing?!
People may not believe in God. (fools)
Fine. I don't believe that homosexuality is right.
Both groups disbelieve in something.
Why should it only be offensive when it's about GOD?
