Angie has started a weekly Tasty Tuesday. Because I love her blog so much, I thought I'd participate this week.
I know I just posted a menu for yesterday's post, but Tasty Tuesday's recipe isn't one I make on a regular basis. You've never seen it in my menu! lol. But I love it. I hope you'll enjoy it, too.
Braised Beef Roast
4-5 lbs. boned rump or sirloin roast beef
Flour
Salt & Pepper
2 onions, sliced
1/2 cup Blackberry brandy
1 (10 oz) can of tomato puree
1 cup beef bouillon
1/2 cup water
Pinch of thyme
Pinch of marjoram
salt & pepper as needed
Rub meat with flour, salt and pepper. Brown all sides in roasting pan over high heat. Add onions and cook until golden brown. Add 1/2 cup brandy, tomato puree, bouillon, water, herbs, and seasonings. Cook, covered, in a 350 degree oven about 3 1/2 hours. Add bouillon as needed.
(I found this delicious recipe years ago from the Cooks.com site)
I like to add some potatoes, carrots, and green beans into the dish as it bakes. It's a great meal!
You could win a prize courtesy of Angie by participating in her Tasty Tuesday, too! Click here to check it out.

looks great. I'm wondering if it will translate well to a slow cooker?
I've never tried it in the slow-cooker. I wish I could tell you!
My crock pot is not large enough for the cut of meat I have bought when preparing this.
If you try it and it works out, let me know!
Thanks for stopping by.
Sounds tasty! :)
And...you're so sweet to say you love my blog. And, so, I say unto you (as my Mom would say): Ditto, baby. ;)
Hey! Guess what!?! You were the winner! Send me your address at angie (at) intheheartland.net and I'll get the magazine out to you!
