8-8-08

Could it be a lucky day?
Many people seem to think so.
We have the Olympics, weddings planned for this unique date, and a rise in lotto tickets being sold.

It's pretty cool, if you think about it. One of the unique things about us being alive for the turn of a Century is being around to see 1-1-01, 4-4-04 (Aidan almost could have been born on that date), of course 5-5-05, 6-6-06, 7-7-07, and now 8-8-08.

Eight has always been a good number for me: I was born on the 8th, and I am the youngest of 8 kids.

We don't have anything special planned for today. I do have an unused poster board. Maybe we'll finger paint a huge "8", then once that dries, cut out small pictures form the boys of today, and glue them on. They can make and hang up their own 8-8-08 poster.

As for it being a lucky day, I'll just count on my normal good luck: having 2 cute little boys, a hard-working husband who laughs at my dumb jokes, and the calm of the weekend.

Have a good Friday!

Sue-
I do hope you guys get good news today. You deserve it!

As for Jack waking up at EIGHT, I don't think that's anything to complain about! That's sleeping IN for Aidan!

I don't know if you watched the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics (we saw some of it - The Birds Nest - I thought of you). Anyway... they said like all these people bought lottery tickets, got wedding licenses and something else a huge increase. Crazy!!!
