It's Worth the Half Hour

Several people on Facebook had posted this, so yesterday I finally watched it.

I am glad that I did.

The first few minutes into it, I was beyond shocked and appalled that these youthful people did not even know who HITLER was. That was disturbing in & of itself.

The way this was lead, though, made it worthwhile. The change...the angle.
The TRUTH.

It made me grateful for the education I've received, the people in my life that value LIFE, and especially grateful for the opportunity I had to tour Auschwitz and Birkenau.

I will confess this: I've always been pro-life, yes. But it wasn't until I visited Auschwitz that it started to "personalize" for me. The fire's flame was lit then, so to speak.

Please watch this. It's truly eye-opening and amazing.

Stand Up for What is Right, Even If You Stand Alone

My 9th grade English teacher had this poster in her classroom. It sticks with me to this day.

The other night I was at an event our parish was hosting: An Evening of Reflection and Prayer for 40 Days for Life.
It was over an hour of prayer, including Benediction, Adoration, hymns sung in Latin...it was simply beautiful.

In my head I kept hearing "Stand up for what is right, even if you stand alone".

Looking around the room, you'd praise God for not being alone. There were maybe 20 of us there.
We were together, not having to stand alone, united in prayer, preparing our hearts to take action.

What we came to stand for? LIFE.

Call it what you want: a zygote, embryo, fetus, BABY  (HUMAN), they are alone.
They have no person to fight for them, especially in the sad circumstances of their own parents hoping to end their very life.
Abortion.

When you can't even count on the womb--the very first home--to be a safe haven, when you can't even count on that, it's beyond sad, and it's our moral responsibility to take a stand.
We stand together to fight for their LIVES. The basic right to live & breathe.
Those babies-HUMANS-with beating hearts, they are not able to even stand up alone to fight for their own lives. Their very life, before even having the chance to live it, is threatened.

I don't live in a perfect world without trials & tribulations, I don't come from money and I certainly acknowledge that there are bad people in this world. Things happen that emotionally scar people, such as rape.
Research it, though, and you'll learn that the majority of abortion cases are not a result of rape, despite what Planned Parenthood would like us to believe.
Even in the event of rape, the wrong person would be receiving punishment (the baby), and that is not just. Two wrongs do not make a right.

I could go on that rant forever, citing actual facts about abortion, post pictures to imprint in your brain the horror that it is.

Instead, I'll plead that in some form, you take action.
Yes, YOU.
Start with prayer.
Pray for the moms considering abortion. Those moms feel hopeless, scared, unsure. They rely on abortion as a last result.
Pray for them and their babies. Pray for the father of those babies, so that they may be men that do not threaten the lives of the mothers and/or babies, inflict violence, threaten to leave them if...

Pray for the resources needed to choose LIFE to become apparent in the lives of these women.
Adoption options, pregnancy centers that offer classes, free baby items, etc.
Pray these things will make themselves known to these women.

If prayer is the only thing you can do, so be it. After all, it's communication with God-it's a great thing.

Let's say you can do more (and I suspect most of you can).

Check out the 40 Days for Life site and see if you can sign up to participate.

Gather items to donate to a pregnancy center.
Make a straight financial donation.

Educate yourself in the matters necessary that deal with our political front, such as the Heartbeat Bill.
When the time comes, VOTE responsibly.

There is so much a person can do. You don't need a lot of time or money (I have neither), but a desire in your heart.

Stand up for what is right.
I would stand alone, but thank God I don't have to.
Together let's stand up for those who are alone.
For the babies. For the pregnant mothers. So many of them feel alone or are alone.

Join me in taking a stand.

This 12 Year Old Girl Is AMAZING

The courage she shows is outstanding. (going on to give this speech when told not to by her teachers)
She understand life much better than many adults, and she is only 12.

I am so proud of this girl and hope she continues to lead in such a significant way.
You go, Lia!!

12-Year-Old Lia Speaks at March for Life

“Every day, 115,000 are being put to death through abortion. 115,000. Look around at this great sea of people. This is only about 10,000 people. Every two hours, this amount of children are killed because of abortion.”
“Almost one third of our generation never made it out of the womb,” Lia said, “all those lives are now gone. All that potential, gone, and all that hope and future, gone.”

Lia rhetorically asked the crowd, “Why do we think that just because a fetus can't talk, or do what we do, it isn't a human being yet? Could it be that we only call them humans if they're wanted?”
This next part gives me immediate goosebumps:
Next, Lia spoke out against the startling abortion statistics related to babies with disabilities, saying, “What doesn't make sense to me is that on the one hand, we provide special parking and elevators for the handicapped, we sponsor the Special Olympics, speaking of the joy they are to us and how they inspire us.” She continued, “But, when we find out that a pregnant woman is carrying one of these very children we counsel her to abort it, not giving the child a second thought.”

Lia also addressed gender targeted abortions, specifically the targeting of women. She said that “in Bombay, out of 8,000 pregnancy tests which indicated that the baby was female, only one of the babies lived. As for the rest, the mother exercised her choice. They were aborted. Killed.”

Lia ended her speech quoting Dr. Seuss's book “Horton Hears a Who,” saying, “even though you can't hear them, or see them at all, a person's a person, no matter how small.”
I hope we gain many more "Lias" in this world.
We certainly need it.

Baby Continues to Grow in Brain-Dead Woman's Womb

I was browsing Fox News when this story caught my attention.

Isn't that amazing?

It wasn't too long ago when we were hearing the story of Terri Schiavo, and her "brain-dead" status making her husband want to cut her off from life support.

Reading this article, it makes me believe in the possibility of those lives, and especially for the lives of the unborn.

"The woman's body is functioning as normal and the fetus is getting a continuous supply of blood," said Professor Eyal Antabi, who heads the hospital's maternity ward.

I just find this to be amazing. I would never have guessed a person's body could sustain new life like this, given that their own body had stopped functioning. Then again, maybe there is more to the human body when in a vegetative state than we are aware.
If this story doesn't hint at that, I don't know what it would take.

It's Not Just WOMEN'S Rights

It's hogwash when pro-choicers talk about "women's rights". They opt against different wording because then it equalizes women and men, minimizing their argument that women have a unique choice when it comes to abortion. Every child has a mother and father, required for conception. So in most cases, each parent should have equal say in whether or not the baby is aborted. (I am 100% against abortion, but I worded it that way in making a point).

Funny, isn't it? In a nation when we strive to equalize women and men, the more liberal of our citizens restricts that equalization by taking away rights from men?

We can make them pay child support, pay bills, suffer in all other areas. We can lower their pay scale so as to equal women's, demand they be sensitive for our emotions, yet the moment they do all of that in regards to their unborn baby, we undo it all?!

No. It is hypocrisy and unfair. It's against their rights to parenthood. A woman's body carries the baby, yes. A man's body is involved, too, though. Simply because a woman carries the baby does not take away the man's role or choice for fatherhood and life.

More and more research provides us with the knowledge that men suffer from abortion, too.
So, the prompt for this post was this article: Men Can Suffer a Myriad of Grief Issues Following a Partner's Abortion.

Another worthy link: Men and Abortion and this one.
